NOVEMBER Garden Plot Clean Up Fall is the time to clean out plots to ensure the garden is ripe for spring planting. Gardens need to be well kept during the winter months. Check with your garden leaders for the date your gardens must be clean. Registration for the 2007 Season Have a friend who is curious about joining a community garden? Now is a great time to contact garden leaders to reserve a plot or a spot on the wait list. Call DUG at (303) 292-9900. Thanksgiving Enjoy the fruits of gardening labor and savor the cornucopia of autumn vegetables and the bounty of the season.
DECEMBER/JANUARY Free Seeds & Transplants Program Get the raw materials to make your garden bloom through DUG’s annual Seeds &Transplants Program. Starting in early December through January, applications will be available for income-eligible Denver residents at many Denver-area recreation and community centers. Application deadline is early February, with seeds delivered in March, and plants in May. |
