Youth Farmers' Markets
Denver Urban Gardens, in partnership with Slow Food Denver, works with local schools to coordinate youth-run farmers' markets. The youth farmers' markets offer healthy food to communities, promote nutrition, demonstrate healthy meal preparation in partnership with local chefs and develop community capacity and leadership. Youth farmers' markets are happening all over Denver throughout the month of September. Art Farm: September 10th at West Washington Park Community Garden

Whole Foods Market 5% Community Giving Day: September 14th
On Wednesday, September 14th, 5% of total sales from four Whole Foods Market locations will be donated to Denver Urban Gardens, and our partners at Slow Food Denver and Sprout City Farms. This proceeds of this incredibly generous fundraiser will support our collective work in building school-based community gardens, and providing hands-on education in nutrition and gardening at Denver Public Schools. The four participating locations are:

Globeville Community Garden Harvest and Fitness Festival: September 17th from 10:00am - 1:00pm
Join the Globeville community gardeners for a celebration with food, healthy cooking demos, games, prizes, health information, and zumba demos for all ages. This festival is happening at Stapleton Park and Clinica Tepeyac between 5090 Broadway and 5075 Lincoln Street in Globeville.  

Brunch in the Field: September 18th at DeLaney Community Farm
Join us at DUG's DeLaney Community Farm for Sunday Brunch in the Field, a farm-to-table event featuring food from DeLaney and our partner farms in Colorado. 

Fairview Harvest Festival: September 25th from 12:00 - 4:00pm at Fairview Elementary
Join students, teachers, volunteers, and neighbors for this kid-friendly harvest festival that will include music, games, a youth farmers' market, healthy cooking demos, and more! Click here to view the flyer. 

Film on the Farm: The Never Ending Story: September 30th at DeLaney Community Farm

Rosedale Community Garden's Annual Harvest and Art Show Sale: October 1st
On Saturday, October 1st from 9:00am until noon, community gardeners at DUG's Rosedale Community Garden will be selling vegetables, corn stalks, straw bales, canned goods, and baked goods. For the first time ever, they will be combining their annual harvest celebration with an art show and sale. If you are an artist and would like to enter a piece, or if you would like more details about this event, please contact volunteer garden leader Carol Garcia at 720.941.8960 or carolgarcia505@gmail.com. Rosedale Community Garden is located at Sherman and Iliff in Denver (entrance is on Logan). 

Helping Kids Get Healthy: A Workshop Series for Youth Educators: October 25th 
These unique workshops are designed for teachers and volunteers who work in youth education programs that focus on nutrition and gardening.
