Gove Community Garden
Gove Community Garden is a lovely addition to the cross streets of Colorado Boulevard and 13th Street, with a portion of the garden being used by the local Veteran's Affair Hospital as part of their rehabilitation program. To further promote community within the garden and to reach out into the local community, the garden also donates a portion of their harvest to Metro CareRing, a local hunger relief organization.
Gove Community Garden is also home to Denver Urban Gardens' demonstration compost site and Learn to Compost workshops, a series of classes put on by Denver Urban Gardens and Denver Recycles. Participants in these free classes learn the basics of backyard composting and there are also classes offered in vermicomposting and in building a compost pile for those wanting to dig in even deeper.
