Arvada Garden is unique because of its large Russian and Hmong immigrant populations and the strong sense of community that they have brought with them.

 Why We Love Our Garden:

Members of Arvada Garden really enjoy each other’s company, and often sit in the pavilion and talk until sunset.  America can be a confusing place for immigrants, but in this garden they are on familiar ground.  All season long, the garden brims over with vegetables, flowers and the spirit of generosity.  Visitors are greeted with a friendly smile and lots of produce.

Originally, the Mennonite Church in Arvada donated land for this garden, and they ran it until 2003.  DUG helped to renovate Arvada Garden in 2004.  Debree was hauled away, and as a result the site looks better than ever.  There is a new watering system, a new fence, and new pathways.  There is also a courtyard with a pavilion.
