July Veggies 026.jpg

Blue Spruce garden is a place where gardeners come to share their knowledge, learn from others, and create a place of beauty.

 Why We Love Our Garden:

 Community Events:
Did you know that corn is planted in a circle in some countries?  This is one of the techniques that Latino gardeners have shared with their peers at Blue Spruce.  This garden was initiated by the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless to provide a place for residents of transitional housing to grow their own produce.  In this garden, people from all walks of life work together and share unique tips to make the garden bloom.  Get ready to learn!  If you decide to join Blue Spruce, you will meet retired people, working people, homemakers, and people from around the world.

Gardeners love the chance to work together at Blue Spruce, but there is nothing quite like digging alone in the dirt at 5:30am on a summer morning and enjoying a quiet sunrise.  This is a place not only for community interaction, but also for solitary reflection.

This garden has an ornamental entry gate, an arbor, shed, a compost bin, and some benches.  Corn is the most popular vegetable, and can be admired from the gazebo or the patio in front of the Blue Spruce Town Homes Club House.  Views of the beautiful perennial bed or the luscious herb garden can be enjoyed from under the shade tree.

Bountiful harvests mean fresh vegetables for all!  They are placed in the Blue Spruce Town Homes Club House.
