In a densely populated neighborhood, Bromwell offers an open space for students and community members.  Since Bromwell is a magnet school for the physically challenged, this garden is accessible for all.

 Why We Love Our Garden:

 Community Events:

As one of the smallest school community gardens in Denver, with only ten community plots, Bromwell has an intimate feel and a strong sense of community.  Located in Cherry Creek North, the garden and neighboring park are the only open places in a densely commercial and residential area. In the late summer, honeysuckle from the arbor perfumes the air and children gather for outdoor lessons.  Denver Urban Gardens has partnered with Slow Foods to provide education in the garden.

This site is specifically designed to meet the needs of Bromwell’s physically challenged students.  Raised beds make it easier for students to plant, cultivate, and harvest their own vegetables alongside community members and other children.  The garden boasts a sandstone plaza used as an outdoor classroom space, a sundial, an arbor, and a compost area. Painted murals on the backs of the benches add art and color to the site.  Because of the small size of this garden, there is often a waiting list to get a plot.
