 Why We Love Our Garden:

 Community Events:
With gardeners ranging from 3-72 years old, the Elati Community
Elati2.JPG
garden is truly a diverse group. Participants include young families, survivors of traumatic brain injuries, single parents and youth. Participants are committed to the beautification of this site, and work together to transform this small lot into a productive growing place each year.  The long-time participation of the Hang Out group for survivors of traumatic brain injuries has added to community sharing in this garden, providing an informal space to socialize and work together.   Located near downtown Denver and West High School, this garden is convenient for nearby residents and downtown workers.

After an afternoon of weeding, there is a shaded picnic area under two mature crab apple trees, and there are apples waiting to be plucked in the late summer.   The garden is a spectacular early morning breakfast spot and home of several evening potlucks complete with a donated Webber barbecue. The garden offers a few raised beds, a working compost program and benches for an afternoon conversation with your neighbors.
