 Why We Love Our Garden:

 Community Events:
Gove Garden was founded
Gove046.jpg
with collaboration between Denver Urban Gardens, Denver Recycles and Gove Community School in 1993.   Once a derelict lot known for drug dealing, the Gove Garden is now a green oasis enjoyed by many commuters on Colorado Blvd.  In 1993, Mayor Wellington Webb presided over the compost facility’s grand opening.  Since then, thousands of students and community members have learned first hand about composting at this site.  Each year, this site is used for the Master Composting Program and public composting classes.

Gardeners at this site enjoy gourmet potluck feasts, organized workdays, and a community of committed and long-term gardeners.  Gove is one of our most popular and high-profile gardens due to its long history and convenient location.
