This garden provides the only community gardening opportunity for gardeners living in Lakewood.

 Why We Love Our Garden:

 Community Events:
This quiet garden is surrounded by a community of

supportive neighbors at the end of a cul-de-sac.  The garden welcomes families, and there are often children playing nearby or helping with the plots.  Neighborhood kids frequently drop by and are given informal tours and tastes of garden produce. Gray Street garden is community-oriented and plans for a garden kick-off social and several workdays throughout the season.

Although relatively new, this garden boasts several flowering trees, a tool shed for community tools, and rose and raspberry bushes.  The original garden leader, Lara Merriken, is the creator of the “Lara Bar” health bars.  This garden was founded with help from the City of Lakewood, the Lakewood Housing Authority, Denver Urban Gardens and a group of committed local residents.
