Lowry Garden is one of Denver’s largest community gardens and is very committed to keeping its gardeners informed about garden events and connected to the community through its newsletter, the “Lowry Gardener”.

 Community Events:

Located at the northwest corner of Lowry Air Force Base, and straddling Denver and Aurora, this garden is one of the largest in the Denver Metro Area.  It has more plots than any other location, and also boasts large communal flower beds.  With the help of dedicated garden leaders and participants, the garden brims with productive beds each year.  Dahlias bloom in abundance, since they are the favorite flower of garden leader Ed Mehner.

Instead of the typical urban environment, Lowry is surrounded by open space and has several picnic areas close by.  A large amphitheater is built beside it and has been used for a handful of community events and presentations.

For the past seven years, the “Lowry Gardener” newsletter has kept gardeners up to date on all Lowry Garden events.  The publication includes recipes, advice, garden tidbits, and information about garden events.
