The Palmer garden connects to the school grounds through a grove of flowering pear trees.  Entry shade pavilions and benches provide a nice spot for grandmothers to wait for their grandchildren to get out of school.  Soon to be one of Denver’s “Learning Landscapes,” Palmer school integrates learning and play in the garden and surrounding schoolyard.  Community members and Palmer gardeners look forward to seeing the perennial beds come to life every spring.

Who loves Palmer more than its dedicated gardeners?  Tomato and pepper plants.  That’s because the sun is really strong here, and heat-loving plants will thrive!  Also, many Palmer gardeners use a vertical design for their plots, so vegetables are mixed with fruit, herbs, vines and flowers.  There is a lot to learn here!
