As one of the largest gardens in the Denver Metro Area, Rosedale retains a tightly knit community through ongoing social events and a periodic newsletter.

 Why We Love Our Garden:

 Community Events:

Rosedale’s annual summer rummage sale is a way to bring the local community into the garden, and provides a social event for gardeners to meet one another.  Each year, the event also generates additional money for garden improvements.  If you attend the rummage sale, make sure to tour the productive garden plots and admire the grape arbor, small orchard, and the perennial herb beds.  Also, be sure to keep your eye out for the resident fox and her kits, which coexist with Rosedale gardeners.

Rosedale gardeners believe in giving back to their local community, and they do this in a variety of ways.  For the past several years, Rosedale participants have coordinated a weekly pick-up of organic veggies with Project Angel Heart, an organization that provides meals to community members suffering from terminal illnesses.  In addition, Rosedale donates flower bouquets, pumpkins and gourds, and other produce to the Platt Park Senior Center at harvest time.   These gardeners are also generous with their time.  Denver Urban Gardens’ most dedicated and long term volunteer, John Schnebly, is one of the experienced gardeners at Rosedale.
