The Sheridan Community Garden is a place of learning and growing for community members and local youth.

 Why We Love Our Garden:

 Community Events:

In Sheridan Garden, there is an unspoken agreement to help with watering and weeding, and gardeners pitch in to keep the community grounds looking well cared for. Garden features include vegetable and flower planting areas and an outdoor habitat classroom with soil and water conservation improvements.  In addition, the garden’s small plaza encourages community interaction and neighborhood bonding.  Local youth have expressed themselves and developed a sense of community ownership by painting the benches with murals.

In the past, local schools and youth groups have used this garden as an outdoor classroom.  Within the garden, students learn about urban wildlife, natural process, and seasonal cycles, agrarian work and creative applications of environmental sciences.  This garden has a long relationship with Americorps and the Sheridan Public Schools.
