Gardens for Growing Healthy Communities
Denver Urban Gardens is excited to be part of the “Gardens for Growing Healthy Communities” three-year research project in collaboration with
the University of Colorado School of Medicine. This project will help to assess the health benefits of community gardens; giving our organization, gardeners, funders and community leaders valuable information about the impact of community gardens on urban neighborhoods. DUG looks forward to the specific findings of the research, but also to the information we learn and the contacts we strengthen throughout the process.
We encourage all garden leaders, gardeners and other interested community members to get involved with this exciting project. For all of us that love community gardening, this research will provides a tool to generate new ideas for improving the reach of community gardens and connections to healthy neighborhood networks.
