The Urquhart Memorial Garden serves as a catalyst for community, and even neighbors who don’t have their own garden plots attend harvest festivals, donate money, and help keep the garden looking beautiful.

 Why We Love Our Garden:

 Community Events:
The gardeners at Urquhart Memorial enjoy sharing: tools, plant cuttings, extra vegetables, even life stories. You can

find neighbors catching up with each other and tending to their garden plots any night of the week, with the sun setting over the mountains in the background.

Closed for several years due to construction on I-25, the Urquhart Memorial Garden reopened in 2006. The garden was rebuilt very quickly, in large part due to the neighborhood camaraderie and dedication toward beautifying common properties. The area is now home to twelve thriving plots, as well as a children’s pumpkin patch and several relaxing sitting areas.

Exciting future developments are already in the workings. Garden members look forward to the construction of a park-like area with trees, shrubs, and native grasses, as well as a mini-orchard.
