Garden construction workdays are a great way to get your hands dirty and help to build and upgrade infrastructure in our community gardens.
You may join a group for a workday or bring your own group of up to 20 people. Workdays are scheduled throughout the year with typical shifts running from 9:00am until 12:00pm and 1:00pm until 4:00pm. Occasionally, Saturday morning projects can be scheduled for groups. Tasks may include amending soils, laying pathways, building raised beds, installing plot edging, constructing shade pergolas, etc. at community garden sites throughout Metro Denver. Some projects involve building new gardens and others will involve improvements to existing gardens. Both are great ways to contribute to the growth of community gardens!
We ask that volunteers provide their own transportation to and from project sites and sign a waiver prior to working on projects (those under age 18 must have a parent or guardian sign). Workdays are held rain or shine, so come prepared! (Workdays are canceled in the event that heavy rain or snow create unsafe working conditions.)
