Description

The Applewood Community Garden is a vibrant community that values cooperation and friendship and uses these values to achieve great things together. For one week of each growing season, each plot owner becomes the Master Gardener, and takes care of general garden maintenance: watering, weeding and caring for the common areas and trees. Applewood Community Garden also has community work days and events to maintain the garden’s beauty. This has worked well for over five years and everyone takes pride in their well cared for garden. Additionally, to foster relationships within the garden and between the garden and the community, Applewood Community Garden invites the neighborhood, friends and family to an open house garden party each summer, where ice cream sundaes are made and there is always a wonderful turn out and good time.
