Arvada Mennonite Community Garden

Address
5927 Miller Street

Established
2004

Arvada’s large Russian and Hmong immigrant populations bring a rich sense of community to this distinctive garden. Members of Arvada Mennonite Community Garden enjoy each other’s company, often sitting and talking in the pavilion until sunset.  Culture and community converge as immigrants find comfort on familiar ground, sharing stories and garden advice while working the land. All season long, the garden brims over with vegetables, flowers and a spirit of generosity. Visitors are greeted with a friendly smile and lots of produce.

Originally, the Mennonite Church donated the land for this garden, which they also managed until 2003. DUG helped renovate Arvada Mennonite Community Garden in 2004, adding a new watering system, fence, and pathways. The courtyard features a pavilion for gardeners to break from getting their hands dirty and enjoy the view or a friendly chat with a neighbor.
