Description

Whittier School Community Garden is a place where gardeners believe that cultivating community is just as important as cultivating crops. With activities such as monthly garden parties, an ice cream social, a pumpkin patch, and back-to-school barbeque, Whittier School Community Garden is truly committed to creating a strong community. Other activities with Whittier School Community Garden include a Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and Easter egg hunt.

While forming a strong community in the garden, Whittier also spreads their roots into the local community, donating to The Gathering Place on a weekly basis. Additionally, some Whittier gardeners work with the after-school program and summer scholars to maintain the Slow Food Denver beds in the garden.
