Your generosity supports a greener & healthier Denver with food-producing community gardens and food forests. DUG’s 200 community gardens and 24 food forests cover 34 acres of land across 6 counties in the Denver metro area – but we’re not stopping anytime soon.
These green spaces are more than a hobby – for many of our gardeners, it’s their primary access point to fresh and healthy food for themselves and their families. In fact, many of our community gardens & food forests support marginalized communities. Additionally, for many of our gardeners, their local community garden or food forest is their third place – the space outside the home & workplace where they feel safe and connected with their community. Our green spaces empower Denverites to grow their own food, debunking the myth that a “green thumb” is inherent. We believe everyone can grow with access to resources.
