Garden Leader Training: Winterizing
REGISTER HERE
As the growing season winds down, before walking away from your garden for the season, make sure you are winterizing you site. Or as we call it at DUG, “putting the beds to bed!” This process helps protect soil health, infrastructure, and the long-term vitality of the garden. In this session, we’ll walk through steps and best practices for putting your garden to bed, including clearing and composting plant material, protecting soil, caring for shared spaces, and preparing irrigation systems for winter. You’ll leave with a clear plan to make sure you set yourself up for success as we wait for the next spring to arrive.
This session is available for all DUG Garden Leaders, Steering Committee Members, and Tree Keepers. Prospective leaders can join by request.
