Meet Candace, DUG’s Senior Director of Finances
Candace is the Senior Director of Finance at DUG, where she leads all things financial in support of growing healthy, community-driven food systems.
With a background in accounting and nonprofit work, she’s known for stepping into complex situations and making them make sense. She leads financial strategy, improves systems, brings structure to messy processes, and makes sure resources are being used in ways that actually support the mission – not just check boxes.
Candace thrives on figuring things out independently, building better ways of working, and helping organizations run more smoothly over time. She’s especially drawn to work that feels meaningful and contributes to something bigger than herself.
Outside of work, Candace is pursuing a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology and is passionate about restoring small-scale habitats that support local ecosystems. She enjoys designing and building projects around her home, gardening, and spending time outdoors with her dog, Willow. She’s currently transforming her front yard into a demonstration garden – replacing traditional lawn with low-water native plants designed to support pollinators and local wildlife.
