DUG is inviting the community to explore Denver’s growing spaces in a whole new way with the return of the 2026 Summer Garden Stroll series.

This year’s lineup features three unique community-centered experiences designed to celebrate gardens, movement, creativity, and connection across the city. From neighborhood walking tours to a skating adventure and community bike ride, each event offers participants the opportunity to experience Denver’s urban gardening network while connecting with fellow supporters, gardeners, and neighbors.

The Summer Garden Strolls series reflects DUG’s mission to cultivate community through food, education, and climate resilience, while making outdoor spaces more joyful and accessible for everyone.

The season begins with the June Garden Walking Tour on June 18, 2026, an evening stroll through community gardens and green spaces in North Denver. Participants will enjoy a guided experience highlighting the beauty, diversity, and impact of local gardens while learning more about the people and partnerships helping neighborhoods grow. Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged for the approximately two-hour experience.

Later in the summer, DUG will host the August Skating Tour, bringing a playful and energetic twist to garden exploration. Community members will skate between select locations while celebrating public green spaces, sustainability, and summer in Denver. Designed to be approachable and community-focused, the event invites participants of varying skill levels to roll through the city together while supporting local growing spaces.

The season concludes with the October Bike Tour, a community ride connecting participants to gardens, food forests, and climate resilience projects throughout Denver. The ride will highlight the interconnectedness of urban agriculture, mobility, sustainability, and neighborhood investment, all central to DUG’s vision for a greener future city.

Together, the three events showcase the many ways people can engage with Denver’s urban gardening movement beyond the garden bed itself. Whether walking, skating, or biking, participants will experience firsthand how community gardens create gathering spaces that support food access, environmental stewardship, pollinators, mental health, and neighborhood resilience.

The stroll series also celebrates Colorado’s outdoor culture and the importance of sustainable transportation and accessible green spaces in urban environments. As cities continue adapting to climate challenges and rapid growth, community-centered events like these help strengthen relationships between people and the places they call home.

Additional details, routes, partners, and registration information for each event will be announced as the dates approach. Community members are encouraged to follow DUG for updates and prepare for a summer and fall season filled with movement, connection, and gardening inspiration.
