Vermicomposting: Make + Take Worm Bin Workshop

Vermicomposting, or composting with red wiggler worms, is an easy way to convert kitchen food scraps into ‘black gold,’ a nutrient-dense compost that you can add to your home garden beds or house plants. Indoor worm bins allow us to divert organic waste from the landfill all year round, even when you don’t have space for a traditional outdoor compost bin. 

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll make your very own starter worm bin kit*, as well as learn how to take care of your new composting pets, so that you can begin generating healthy soils to grow healthy food right at home! 

This workshop is family-friendly and accessible for family units with children ages 5+. Adults and children are required to attend together. When registering, please indicate everyone in your household who will be attending. *Each household will create one kit. 

Please note: Suggested workshop fee is $50. The material costs for this workshop are $25. Our pay-what-you-can pricing (with a minimum of $25) applies for this workshop. Starter worms will be available at the workshop for an additional fee of $25 per pound.
