A matching gift is a corporate philanthropy program where companies match the donations their employees make to registered nonprofits like us.
Thousands of companies offer matching gift programs that match their employees’ charitable donations dollar-for-dollar. By taking just two minutes to check if your employer participates, you can help us grow twice as much food and regenerative green space for our city.
How do I submit a matching gift?
Requesting a matching gift or volunteer grant is normally a 5-minute process, which must be initiated by the donor.
You can do this by filling out and submitting a paper match form provided by your employer or through an electronic submission process. Please use our search tool above to locate your company’s specific matching gift information.
What if I submit my matching gift without using an online tool?
If you submit your matching gift or volunteer grant outside of a matching gift online tool, email [email protected] directly to notify us of the request, so we can keep track of the matching gift request.
Are matching gifts tax-deductible?
While your individual donation to us is tax-deductible, your matching gift is not tax-deductible.
Only your contributions are eligible for tax deduction. Each party involved (yourself and your employer) can only take deductions for contributions they directly made to the non-profit.
How is my company’s matching gift information obtained?
We partner with a company called Double the Donation. If you see anything that should be changed, please email Double the Donation’s team at [email protected].
