This summer, we launched Summer Garden Strolls as a way to invite our community into our growing spaces, connect with one another, and enhance their connection to Denver’s neighborhoods.
Once a month from May to September, our team will guide community members through 3-5 community gardens in various Denver neighborhoods, including Five Points, Highlands, Baker, Downtown, and Aurora.
These free 90-minute tours invite the community to ask questions, learn more about what community gardens are, and engage in the way that works best for them.
For our first Summer Garden Stroll, our team visited 4 community gardens in the Five Points neighborhood, including Horsebarn, Cole, Bruce Randolph, and 36th & Lafayette. Over a dozen community members (gardeners, volunteers, and partners) joined our walking tour to hear from Garden Leaders, gardeners, and educators in these growing spaces.
Since it was early in the growing season, attendees were able to see the sprouting veggies, sprawling strawberries, and Denver’s common weeds across our community gardens.
Whether or not you garden, you’re welcome to join!
